Day One - The Send Off!

What a beautiful day we had as we arrived at the Church, gathered our bags, and prayed with the folks who came to send us off with love and laughter. We can feel the prayers of everyone! The picture of Skip's pickup shows our 14 bags of supplies and stuff (Yes, we are 2 over the limit and each bag is close to, or at, 50 pounds each--Praise the Lord!) There's a picture of the team and then our extended family who came to pray and send us off. (Nate Keller is taking the picture.)

Our trip to Virginia was uneventful. We only drove as far as Shamokin Dam before Nick and Ben, who said he's always hungry, needed food. All successful mission trips to Africa begin by stopping at Burger King....I think?!?

We finished our day with dinner at the Macaroni Grill in Reston. Tomorrow the team meets Ethiopian Airlines.

God is GREAT ALL the time!

Ed

  2. I'm ready to head home from work, just thinking of you guys and gals. You must be settled in and resting by now. I thank the Lord for your safe travels and may He continue to lead you as you arise in the morning to share His love with all you meet.

  4. Hey, everyone! We hope that it stops raining so that you can enjoy some of that beautiful Rwanda sunshine. We're so happy that everything is going well so far, and that you've been busy seeing some of the sights and getting to know the kids. Praying for you all the time and asking God to be with you as you continue to do all that He has planned for you. Sending lots of love and hugs!

  6. Good morning team!!! Well, at least it is morning here in PA right now. The church e-mail just sent out Lisa's update on the team for us. It sounds like you have been busy! Great job helping everyone there. Knowing Ed, you have your plates full for the next week as well (wink!!!). We are continuing to pray that you are blessed and the people and children of the church are blessed as you work together serving the Lord. Praying for no injuries and safe and satisfying work for you all.

    Love,
    Jestine (and her boys)
